Adobe Connect Session - Editing AVCHD and DSLR formats in CS5

Here is the link to the Hi Def record of the Connect Session where I go through in detail (about an hour) how Premiere Pro CS5 handles tapeless formats recorded in AVCHD such as from the Canon 5D mkII and the 7D as well as how the Mercury Playback Engine allows realtime playback of this footage as well as how it handles realtime effects in full HD with hardware acceleration.

Using native AVCHD footage has never been smoother or easier with Premier Pro and the Mercury Playback engine.

We will look at native editing of all forms of AVCHD including the much talked about native playback of DSLR footage from the Canon 5DmkII and 7D (might throw in a little Nikon D300s footage as well, even though it isnt AVCHD)

Canon 5D Mark II and 7D Final Cut Pro Importer

A short runthrough on how to use the new plugin from Canon for Apples Final Cut Pro to import footage from the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D by way of the log and transfer function. This plugin still is not a 'native' approach, in that it still converts your footage to ProRes 422 but it is much faster and easier to use than other methods.
